MCB-10
Korea Seabees
Thousands of Seabees served in combat
areas of Korea during the war, but many other Seabees were stationed in
lonely outposts all over the world, doing their best to support the war
effort.
Such was the fate of MCB-10
Korea Seabees who served in the South Pacific islands of Guam and
Kwajalein. We built houses for dependents, created and maintained
airstrips, created water facilities, electric systems and much more. And
it wasn't so easy on islands such as Kwajalein, just six degrees off the
equator, with temperatures often reaching over 100 degrees.
MCB-10 on Guam and MCB-10 Detachment A
on Kwajalein served loyally and performed their duties often under
trying circumstances and beyond expectation. Just a few years later,
MCB-10 Seabees found themselves in combat in Vietnam. We are proud of
every Seabee and salute every one of them. May God bless them and their families.
All Seabees, Marines and other
service personnel who served their country are invited to send photos and
comments .
